33-year-old man in court for removing neighbour's scrotum during a fight

 

Kenneth, whose residence remains undisclosed, is currently facing a charge of causing grievous harm. Despite this, the defendant has entered a plea of not guilty to the allegations brought against him.


According to the Prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, the incident occurred on March 1, around 12:20pm at No 1, Abdul Rasaq Street, Balogun area of Ikorodu. It is alleged that Kenneth unlawfully caused grievous harm to his neighbor, Pascal Uche, a fellow shop owner in the market, by reportedly injuring his genitalia during a dispute. This action is said to contravene Section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

 

Under Section 245, the accused could face a sentence of up to seven years in prison if found guilty, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).


Magistrate A.O. Onalaja has granted the defendant bail in the amount of ₦250,000, with two sureties required to match the sum. The case has been adjourned until March 14 for further proceedings.
